INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY AT THE HOWARD BLOOM INSTITUTE
WHO WE ARE
The Howard Bloom Institute is seeking an intern to join our content team. We are a non-profit organization founded by Howard Bloom, a former publicist for music giants such as Michael Jackson, Prince, Bob Marley, Aerosmith, Paul Simon, AC/DC, Queen, Run DMC, Billy Idol, and Joan Jett.
Bloom is also a theorist, an author, and founder of Omnology. Omnology is a discipline that involves viewing all sciences and arts as a collective, aiming to see the patterns that emerge from this approach.
Our team comprises individuals from various fields – from researchers in space technology to actors like Jeff Bridges and Harry Hamlin.
WHO YOU ARE
You are a student in good academic standing, passionate about gaining knowledge across multiple disciplines. You have an endless curiosity and are always eager to learn new things. You value creativity, long intellectual conversations, and exploring the true nature of reality. You are competent in or willing to learn about content marketing, understand the role of marketing in non-profit organizations, and possess a systems-thinking mindset.
YOUR ROLE
As an intern, you will help our team with social media and digital marketing strategies. You will receive a video of Howard reading his script, as well as the script itself, and repurpose it into blog posts, email blasts, YouTube/podcast content, and popular social media formats. You will be responsible for scheduling the content with a social media scheduler, monitoring analytics, and suggesting changes in strategy to help optimize content for search engine optimization (SEO) purposes.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
– Receive raw content (a video file and a text document) and back up your finished materials through Google Drive
– Turn raw content into primary content (YouTube video and blog/email)
– Use templates to create supplemental design assets (thumbnails, blog CMS headers)
– Rip .mp3 and subtitles from the video
– Run basic SEO optimizations for the blog post
WHAT WE OFFER
This internship is an unpaid opportunity that will require 8 to 12 hours of work per week, including content team meetings every two weeks. You will have the opportunity to attend optional group meetings and expand your knowledge through exposure to various fields.
If you are an enthusiastic learner with a passion for content marketing, interested in working with a non-profit organization, and seeking to gain experience across multiple disciplines, we encourage you to apply for this internship.
